Michael Foss, MA

Dean Emeritus of the School of Health & Patient Simulation

Michael Foss is the former Dean of the School of Health & Patient Simulation and founder of SIMS Medical Center. 

He has presented on the uses of patient simulation in education at regional and national conferences for over ten years. Prior to STCC, Dean Foss taught at Rochester Institute of Technology in the College of Science where he also performed research on improving speech of the hearing impaired and effects of insonation on living tissue. At Hillsborgh Community College in Tampa he explored the use of animals as a substitute for human patients in medical imaging education. He holds a Bachelors in Teacher Education and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of South Florida with additional graduate study at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, SUNY Buffalo, University of Mass|Amherst, and is a fellow of MHEELI, the Massachusetts Higher Education Executive Leardership Institute.
